Goodbye 2009

Well it’s time to say goodbye to 2009. It has been a wonderful year. We celebrated the birth of our Olivia and have loved watching her grow up. We lost our sweet Lil’ Hurt but he’s always in our hearts. My sister had heart brake this year and through it she discovered how strong and courageous she is. We said goodbye to Uncle Kenny and were amazing by modern day technology as Uncle Billy received a heart transplant. We’ve welcomed new babies into the family and are eagerly awaiting the arrival of more in the New Year. God has truly blessed me and my family this year. I’m looking forward to seeing what He has in store for us in 2010.

Here are some of my favorite memories from 2009. If you want to see more memories check out our Shutterfly site.

Nine Months Old!

You are nine months old today! What have you been up to?

You are wearing 9 month clothes and still in size 3 diapers. I think you’re over 20 pounds but we’ll have to wait until next week to find out your stats. You love to eat and you get very excited when you can feed yourself finger foods. You also love to drink out of a big cup.

You are still sleeping 12 hours a night, but you will not go to sleep unless I rock you to sleep. Big change from last month!

You will give Mommy kisses. Sometimes you’ll kiss Daddy, but usually it’s only Mommy.

You are cruising all over the place. You will move from the couch to a chair that’s a foot away. You’re walking with assistance and since you got a stroller for Christmas you love walking behind it. You’re very brave and will stand without holding on to anything for about five seconds. You play a lot in an almost squat. I think you’re very close to just standing up on your own.

Your first word was “cat”. Every time you see the cats you say cat and get so excited. If we ask you want a cat does you’ll hiss. It’s so cute. We also think you are saying “hi” to us, but we’re not sure.

You are very good at imitating. If we show you something a couple of time then you will try it out. You are starting to use your pointer finger to start toys and push shapes in your shape sorter.

We put you in a walker when we’re in the kitchen and you walk all over the place. You’re starting to explore and soon we’ll have to put latches on the cabinets.

You love to wave a people. You started out using your entire arm to wave but now you’re starting to just use your hand. You are also clapping and will sometime raise one arm for no reason.

You are very curious and love to watch everything that goes on around you.

You are still talking up a storm. You always have something to say. You love to talk on the phone. You get so excited when you hear a voice on the other side, but will not say anything until we take the phone away from your ear.

I can’t believe that you are nine months already! You are growing up so fast.  I love watching you explore and learn new things. I love snuggling with you and hearing your sweet laugh. Your daddy and I love you more and more each day. I love you my sweet Livie!

Back to Work

Unfortunately I had to go back to work today (thankfully it's a short week).  Olivia spent the day playing,  shopping and getting lots of kisses. I don't think she noticed I was gone. Ha!

Sweet Gifts

My mom got my step-father this adorable tie that he wore to church this morning. So sweet.

Olivia had Christmas with my parents today.

She got another foam mat from her Nanny that makes noise when you press the button. Olivia tried to press the button. We got my parents a web cam so that we can have face to face "phone calls". We're so excited that they'll be able to see Olivia weekly rather than every couple of months, even if it's over the computer.

My mom got me the cutest cups.

Olivia and mom needed to take a nap after all the excitement.

Later we went to dinner with some friends of my parents that were in town for the night. Every December and March they stay at Jesse's hotel for the night while the travel from Maine to Myrtle Beach and back. They're Snow Birds. We went to Cracker Barrel. I had catfish, fired okra, corn bread and sweet tea for dinner. Yummy! This was the first time we took Olivia out to dinner since her bedtime is at 7:00 pm. She did very well. I brought her dinner with us and fed her while we waited on our food. Tomorrow I'm going to buy a mat for the table so she can eat finger foods while we eat and not lick the table. I know, yuck!

I got a lot of great gifts this year but I love my new laptop from my sweet hubby and a Vera Bradley handbag I got from my sister-in-law.

It's an Olivia!

More Houseguests

Olivia and I spent the day reorganizing her toys and cleaning the house. I think I picked up her toys at least four times today.

We made a quick trip to Walmart to pick up some items. Yikes! There was nothing quick about our trip. It was raining, foggy and half of Chambersburg was out shopping for deals. The day after Christmas is almost as bad as the day after Thanksgiving...almost.

My parents arrived from Myrtle Beach today and are staying for a week. We're looking forward to spending some time with them and Olivia is excited about getting spoilt. My mom gave Olivia ice water for the first time tonight and Olivia loved it. Soon she'll be asking for ice in her sippy cup. Ha!

Merry Christmas

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will towards men. Luke 2:14

Merry Christmas our precious girl.

Christmas Eve

We had a wonderful Christmas. Christmas Eve was a quiet day at home listening to Christmas music and baking cookies for Santa. That afternoon we went to Jesse's parents' house for dinner. It is always so yummy. We had gumbo, crab cakes, clam balls and shrimp the size of lobster. We only get it once a year, but it's totally worth it. After dinner we opened gifts.

Olivia was so cute ripping the paper.

Brody was very helpful passing out presents.

We tried to get a picture of Olivia and Brody together, but Olivia was only interested in Brody's cookie.

Poor Brody!

Jeff and Susie

Joe and Andrea

Ian, Amie and Brody

After we put Olivia's coat on she tried crawling after Apollo but ended up rolling around on the floor. Poor thing.

When we got home Liv went to bed and Santa "visited" and ate our cookies then Jesse and I curled up and watch a Christmas movie...Die Hard (his choice).
