Olivia's Birthday Weekend

Our weekend started Friday morning when Auntie Nichole and Andrew arrived around 1:30 am from SC.  Friday morning Nichole, Olivia and I ran party errands and then relaxed until the rest of the SC family arrived.  That evening we all met at the hotel and had pizza for dinner.  Olivia loved all the attention and running around the room.

We had 20 adults and 2 kiddos at the party. Jesse was very nervous about having seats for everyone but it all worked out and everyone made themselves at home. Olivia’s party dress was made by her great grandmother and I absolutely adore it. Unfortunately she never sat still long enough for us to get a good picture of it. Olivia spent the entire party running from room to room. She loved having all the attention.

Everything for the party was pink! Auntie Nichole ordered some pink M&Ms with Olivia’s picture on them and we gave them away as party favors. They are so cute.

Olivia did have a couple of mini meltdowns. It was close to naptime but she got excited when we started opening gifts. She got a lot of toys and clothes. Olivia also got a swing, sandbox and swimming pool. Unfortunately she also got two bikinis. Jesse has requested that I return them (Sorry you guys). I have a feeling Jesse’s not going to let Olivia wear a bikini until she’s married. Ha!

Jesse thanked everyone for coming and we sand Happy Birthday to Olivia. I got a little emotional. I can’t believe she’s already one. Then we gave her the cake. It took her a couple of minutes but then she didn’t want to stop eating it. She had very little cake and a lot of icing. It was yummy!

After Olivia's party some of the adults when out to dinner at the Orchard’s to celebrate Joe, Nichole and Ian's 30th birthday.

The next morning after breakfast Olivia crawled into her big girl chair and hung out there awhile.  She loves her chair, but now it makes her want to crawl up on the couch even more.  Yikes!

Sunday morning Dad, Frances, Nichole and Andrew headed home. Mom and the gang were going to DC for a few days of sight seeing. Before they left we had lunch at Applebee's. Jesse let Olivia walk into the restaurant. It was so sweet. I wish I had taken a picture. After lunch we came back to the house for goodbyes and Olivia played with her balloons.
Olivia’s first birthday weekend was perfect. I’m so glad we had all our family to help celebrate her life. She is a true miracle.

One Year Old

You’re a year old. This year has gone by in a blink of an eye. A year ago today your daddy and I were meeting you for the first time. My heart is overwhelmed with love for you.

So what have you been up to?

You are around 22 pounds. You can still fit in 9 month clothes, but we’ve packed them away. You're in size 4 diapers.

You never stop moving. You’re always on the go. You love to walk and you’re becoming very independent.

You prefer to do things yourself and get a little upset when we help you. You’re also starting to climb. You try and try and try and after awhile you will get up on the couch.

You are babbling nonstop. You’re not really saying any words, other than hi. But you’ve got a lot to say and you say it loud.

You love to imitate. You and daddy have a mealtime imitating game you play. Apparently mommy doesn’t do it right, because you won’t do it with me. You’re also stacking and can put shapes in the shape sorter if we show you which hole.

You love people. You’ve never met a stranger and love to have all the attention.

I thank God for blessing us with you everyday. Happy Birthday my sweet Livie!

12 Weeks

How far along: 12 Weeks
Maternity clothes: I'm still in just jeans and pants. I know I need to buy maternity clothes but hate spending the money. Unfortunately I can't wear any of my old maternity clothes because they're all sweaters.
Sleep: Ify. Some nights I sleep great, other nights I'm wide awake at 4 am.
Best moment this week: Olivia's first birthday party with all our family.
Symptoms: Same. My belly is starting to grow a little and now I'm uncomfortable after I eat.
Food cravings: Nothing
Gender: Still unknown but everyone thinks it's a boy. I think it's just because I already have a girl.
What I miss: Nothing
What I am looking forward to: Celebrating Olivia's first birthday tomorrow.

We have a little plum this week. I'm very excited that this is the end my first trimester and hope I can get some energy back. It's is definitely more challenging to be pregnant with a toddler to chase after. I can't imagine the challenge once I'm in my last trimester.

Under the Weather

This past week has been a difficult week for us. Olivia has had a horrible cold and has been miserable 95% of the time. Her poor checks and nose have been red all week. Saturday was a very difficult day for her. Everything that happened was a tragedy and she would just start crying. I took her to Walmart thinking she just needed to get out of the house. Boy was I wrong!

Everything I put in the cart she'd turn around and grab. If I took it away she would just fall over in her seat and start crying. Good times. Jesse was on his way home from work while we were at the store and I was tempted to have him come pick her up but we survived. Despite how grumpy she is during the day we've been very fortunate that it hasn't kept her from sleeping at night. I just hope she feels better for her party on Saturday.
I think a week of Liv coughing and sneezing in my face is catching up with me because now I'm starting to feel under the weather too.

I also bought Liv a swimsuit last week. I showed Jesse the swimsuit and he immediately hated. He thinks it's too revealing. Ha! Poor Liv. I definitely think it's better than this swimsuit.

Our little pumpkin is the size of a lime this week. It's amazing how quickly little ones grow. Soon it'll be the size of a watermelon.

Welcome Hannah Leigh

My cousin Brian and his wife Natalie welcomed their second daughter today. Hannah Leigh was born at 12:01pm. She was 9lbs and 21in long. Hannah made Mom and Dad wait an extra week before she made her appearance but I'm sure it was well worth the wait. I know that big sister Maya is over the moon.

On all sides of our families (mine and Jesse's) we have a total of six new babies joining the family this year (not counting us). We're three down and have three more to go. Out of the six babies there is only one boy. It's a girl boom!

Welcome to the Feather Nest Baby Sprinkle

Laura, a sweet friend and co-worker of mine is expecting her second boy on May 24th. Tonight we had a little baby shower sprinkle for her and her hubby. We had it a little early because her first baby came early and we all have a feeling this one will make an early appearance too. Laura's last name if Feather so we did a "Welcome to the Feather Nest" theme. It was a fun theme to do. We had the sprinkle in the back dinning room at Hoss's.
We decorated the tables with bird house, bird fountains and trees. We put branches in a vase, covered them with feathers and added birds to the branches. All of the bird houses and fountains were given away as prizes for our games.

We also did a wish tree and had everyone write message to Laura, Aaron and the baby. To the right we also had the guests write diaper messages for Mom and Dad. There were some cute messages. My favorite was "warning opening could cause urination" ha!

Instead of doing a cake, Heather my co-host, made these adorable birds nests. They were so yummy.
For  party favors we ordered little birds nest and put candy eggs in them. They turned out so cute.

Laura's son, Landon helped her open gifts.

We also got big brother Landon a gift of his own. He's a big fan of "Thomas the Train" so we got him a Thomas bath toy. We did a bath basket for his baby brother and gave Mom a gift card for a prenatal message.

We had so much fun planning and giving Laura a sprinkle. Her last name made it easy to come up with a theme. Now it's time to focus on Livie's party. It's only two weeks away...
