Rough Week

Sorry I've been MIA this week. I've been battling what feels like nonstop morning sickness. Morning and evening seem to be the worst for me. I'm not able to keep anything down. Thankfully lunch has been agreeing with me...until today. Ha! I remember morning sickness with Olivia but I'm not sure if it was this bad. I've also been burping a lot with this baby. It's very odd.

Not only do I have "all day" sickness and first trimester exhaustion I also have an 11 month old cutting two top teeth. So we're having long days and long nights. I canceled all our plans for today and Olivia and I have been home trying to feel better. I'm hoping that next week is a better week for us. We only have four weeks until her birthday and a million things to do!

Pumpkins

My favorite time of year is autumn. I love when the air is crisp, the leaves change colors and every weekend there is a fall festival to attend. My absolute favorite part of fall is pumpkins. Pumpkin lattes, pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin bread, pumpkins patches. I get down right giddy every fall. This year I’m very excited about fall because we’re expecting a new little pumpkin!

Our little pumpkin is due to arrive October 11, 2010 and we couldn't be happier!

A Weekend of Eating

We had a nice and quiet weekend. Saturday Olivia and I headed to Hagerstown for some shopping. We went to Boarders, ToysRus, Michael's and Pier One. It is very difficult to navigate the aisles of Pier One with a stroller and a toddler with wondering hands. Thankfully we didn't break anything.

For lunch we stopped at my favorite place, Chick-fil-A. Olivia had chicken nuggets for the first time and loved them! When we got back to town we did our grocery shopping. Olivia's theme for the day was throwing things out of the stroller and shopping cart. I love this phase. Ha!

After Jesse got home from work we headed to TGI Friday's for dinner. It was suppose to be a date night but with Olivia's early bedtime it was just easier to take her with us. She had a ball and got to eat some of my chicken. See the little guy behind her? He's 18 months old and had chips and salsa for dinner. I can't wait until Olivia can eat off the menu, but I don't think it'll be chips and salsa.

This morning Olivia woke up at 6 am! I was hoping she'd go back to sleep but nope she was up for the day. I was feeling under the weather so we had a pj day while Jesse worked. Thankfully I was able to take a nap with Olivia to make up for getting up so early.

Tonight at dinner Olivia had cheese ravioli for the first time. She also ate an entire sweet potato! Along with a whole banana and graham cracker. I don't know where she puts it all, but she's an eating machine. For full disclosure she did have five poopy diapers today (a record). So I guess it's going somewhere. Ha!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Pantsless

Olivia is on the go all the time. All she does is move move move. Today she discovered that she can take her pants off. Uh-oh! She did it seven times while we were working and twice once we got home.

Here she is with them coming off. She moves around until she gets them off.

And now she's pantsless. I couldn't get her to stand still for a picture. I'm surprised she's not a blur. Ha! Olivia likes to walk around with her socks in her hands. We don't know why. Thankfully she was wearing a onesie today or her diaper would have been off too. Never a dull moment with our Livie!

Welcome Thomas Jeffrey

My cousin Daniel and his wife Jessica had their first baby last night.
I'm so happy to welcome little Thomas Jeffrey to the family. He is three weeks early but Mom and Dad couldn't be happier. He was born February 15 at 10:59 pm and is a healthy 6 lbs 7 oz.

He is the first of many babies that are joining our family this year.  However he is the only boy!

Grocery Shopping

If your interested in continuing to hear about my saving and grocery challenge check out Cents and Pounds. For this week's shopping trip go here.

She's a Toddler

Monday I posted a video of Olivia taking a couple of steps. In less than a week she's a walking fool. She walks everywhere! If she falls down she gets right back up and keeps on going. Olivia loves to walk from one end of our living room to the other (it's a big room).
Friday night she fell and hit her head on one of her toys. Now she has a goose egg, but it has not slowed her down.  It's on the right side of her forehead.
Tonight we had dinner with Jesse's parents and she spent the whole time walking from one end of their house to the other. She even crawled up 1 1/2 steps until I got to nervous and made her get down.

We're so proud of our little Livie. I can't believe how much she's changed over these last 10 months. They say once babies are walking they become toddlers. So I guess we have a toddler!  Uh-oh!

Fun in the Snow

My family in South Carolina got snow yesterday. It's a rare event for them since they live on the coast. They got about three inches which means everything shut down.

This morning I got some pictures. This is my sister's snowman.

This is my dad's snow woman. Ha!

My grandparent's dog, Rusty. He does not look very happy.

I'm glad they all enjoyed the snow. I'm sure it's already melted and life is back to normal.

Another Snow Day

I got to spend another day at home with Olivia since we were still snowed in. Yay! The highlight of our day was we got dressed. Ha! Jesse only worked a half day so we were very happy to have him home around lunch time.
Olivia is walking all over the place. She's up to ten steps before she falls down. I'm so proud of her. She has no fear about walking. If she wants to go somewhere she walks until she falls then she'll crawl the rest of the way.

While I was snowed in for two days I started planning for Olivia's first birthday. We've decided to have it at our house. There is still one room in our house we haven't touch and it needs to be done before we have a house full of guest. It's our guest bathroom. Yep, pretty embarrassing.
The owners before us loved wallpaper. Every room had it. I hate wallpaper. My goal for this weekend is to remove the wallpaper. I've started peeling some of it off and I'm concerned that there is tile under the paper. I guess I'll find out this weekend.

Blizzard Part II

Tuesday afternoon it started snowing and within two hours we had three inches on the ground. It snowed all night and all day today. They say we got another 16 inches of snow. Yikes! The snow is almost level with my front porch. We've had very high winds and whiteouts today. The interstate is closed and the National Guard is rescuing people that are stuck. Not a good day for a drive.

Jesse's been at the hotel since last night making sure everything is running smoothly. Livie and I haven't stepped outside once today. It's too cold and the snow is too deep for my southern blood. I did take some pictures but from the warmth of my house. Enjoy!
Sorry my back porch windows are very dirty from this snow!

Cents and Pounds

I'm co-authoring a new blog, Cents and Pounds that focuses on eating healthy and saving money.

I'm very new to the world of couponing and saving money (or at least trying) so I was very flattered when I was asked to contribute to the blog. Hopefully I can pass some tips on to ya'll or ya'll to me!

Walk This Way

Everyday Olivia is walking more and more.  She's up to about four-five steps before she falls down.  But she gets right back up and tries again.  She's such a big girl!!

Blizzard 2010

It started snowing Friday night...This is what we woke up to Saturday morning.
I have never seen this much snow in my life. It snowed until 2:00 pm Saturday afternoon. When it was all said and done we got 22 inches of snow!

We took Livie out for a few minutes. Poor thing every time she moved she got a face full of snow. I don't think she likes snow very much. Maybe next year.
They say we might get more snow Tuesday...

Grocery Totals

Since we had a big snow storm heading our way I went grocery shopping at 6:30 am Friday morning. I know! It was super early. The nice thing about shopping so early is that the store is almost empty and they have half the lights on. It's nice and soothing. The bad part, they're still stocking the shelves (I had to wait for them to unload the bananas off the truck) and there's only one check out line open.

I went to Weiss to stock up on chicken. They had chicken quarters on sale for .59 a pound so I got 10 pounds. Just in time too because I just used my last pound of frozen chicken tonight. Jesse's likes the frozen Tyson chicken patties and they were B1G1 so I got two bags for $7.99. They also had gold fish on sale for a dollar so I got a couple of bags. They make baby goldfish that are so cute and perfect size for Livie. I also got Martin's B1G1 chips and had a $1.00 off two coupon. My total before savings was $34.23. I saved $13.35 and spent $20.88. I had a savings of 39%.

I got the rest of my groceries from Giant. Shredded Wheat was on sale for $2.00 and I had a $2.00 coupon so I got it free. Giant also has a special this month that if you buy three El Paso Heat and Serves you get a $1.00 off our next grocery purchase. They were a dollar each and I had two dollar off coupons. So I paid a dollar for three rice packets and got a dollar off coupon. My total before savings was $72.92. I saved $23.00 and paid 49.92. I had a saving of 32%.

I also stopped by Target for toiletries and CVS for toilet paper. They had 12 rolls of Quilted Northern for $6.99. I think that's good. Giant had 6 rolls for $5.50.

My total for stock up this week was $50.12. My total for weekly groceries was $44.54. I completely forgot that we're ordering pizza on Sunday so I actually went over my weekly amount. Oh well. I'm still happy with the week's shopping.

However my coupons are out of control. I need a better system of organizing them. I can't find anything especially when I'm in the store and can't find a coupon. Any suggestions?

LOST

I am SO EXCITED about Lost tonight. I love Lost and hope they answer all our questions this season. I'm usually in bed at 10 (I know, lame) but I'm happily staying up until 11 to watch the premiere!

I've started working on our menu for next week. Every year we watch the Super Bowl with Jesse's parents but since it starts close to Livie's bedtime and is on so late we've decided to watch it at home. Jesse has requested the we order wings and pizza so my grocery budget is going to be more like $30.00 Yikes! Thankfully I have some back up meals in the freezer.

Organized...Ha!

Just a quick post today. I'm knee deep in sales ads preparing for this week's shopping trip. My goal for the week is to be more organized...at everything! I have so many things/projects/cleaning that I want to do but time always slips away. I don't know yet how I'm going to accomplish this. I think I might try FlyLady.

Olivia's first birthday is coming up soon. I have so much party planning to do. The only thing I've decided is the date and it's going to be pink. My biggest obstacle is where to have it. Our house is too small. Any suggestions? To add to my party planning stress I'm co-hosting a baby shower for a friend a week before Liv's party. Thankfully we have a location. Ha!

Well back to my coupons and sales ad! Have a great evening!
