{Memorial} weekend

We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend {even though Jesse worked Saturday and Sunday}. We went to cookouts, spent time with family, had lots of laughs and tried not to melt in the heat. It's been in the 90's which is very unusual for us. Even though I hated the heat I loved all the sunshine.  And so did the girls.

Olivia had so much fun running around with Theo. She was so tired when we got home and slept in this morning. Yipee! Maybe we should get a dog {just kidding, honey}.
I hope you had a wonderful weekend too. Happy Tuesday!

Project 365 {141-147}

day 141: After a week of rain we finally got to spend sometime in the sun.
day 142: Despite her expression she was enjoying her ice pop.
day 143: Another day in the sun.
day 144: Olivia loves to smell flowers. I love her "sniffing" face.
day 145: Emily has started crawling around her crib instead of napping.
day 146: Olivia thought her raincoat and boots where a perfect addition to her swimsuit.
day 147: When Olivia went to her room for a nap she was only wearing a pull up. This is what she was wearing when I got her up. I think she did a great job dressing herself.

After a week of rain we finally had some sunshine this weekend. To celebrate we spent all of our time outside. We did yard work, played, grilled out and had friends over.
I hope your weekend was full of sunshine too.

Project 365 {134-140}

day 134: Jesse's been working long crazy hours lately. So the girls got extra snuggle time Saturday.
day 135: I finally got a chance to take some seven month pictures of Emily.
day 136: I think the phone cord might be a little short.
day 137: I found a hitchhiker on my spinach.
day 138: Sweet, sweet naptime.
day 139: Emily is crawling all over the place. She does a push up then pushes herself forward. I can't believe how fast she moves.
day 140: Enjoying an ice cream cone at Grandma's house.

{wash} your greens

I stopped by my favorite farm market earlier this week and got some fresh spinach and strawberries. They are a perfect combination {more on that later}. Anyway, while I was washing my spinach I discovered a hitchhiker and a reminder of why it's always important to wash your greens.

{random} cotton

Since I have a scooter and a messy toddler I spend most of my day picking up choking hazards from the floor. Usually I just put the hazards in my pocket. So this is what I found in my pockets the other day.
A headband, barrette, cat toy, Red Robin balloon {from Liv's lunch date with Grammy}, cotton {I don't know where it came from}, snack mix {Jesse Olivia had a messy snack time}, toy tags and a bear.

Do you ever find crazy things in your pockets?

Seven {months}

Sweet Emily turned seven months old on the 5th, but with my unexpected surgery I wasn't able to take any pictures until now {sorry Mom}.

I seriously can't believe how fast she's growing up. I'm trying so hard to keep her a baby. I absolutely love this age. She's so sweet and happy. She is such a good eater. Emily loves everything we give her and can hold her bottle. She still isn't much of a roller {which is fine with me} but is starting to pull herself forward {which is not fine with me}. She's even gotten up on her hands and knees a couple of times. Emily absolutely adores Olivia and loves when she tickles her. It's so sweet. She also loves her daddy. Her face lights up every time she see him.
Happy {belated} seven months our sweet girl.

{mini} chalkboard signs

I have lots of craft supplies. Supplies for grown up crafts and kiddo crafts. We live in a house built in the 50's which means we don't have a lot of storage space. So I decided to use half of my bookcase to store crafts. I found these really cute baskets at Michaels. They were $4 a piece (love 50% sales). I weeded out our bookcase and made room for eight baskets. Perfect.
Then I painted foam sheets with chalkboard paint and glued them to burlap.
Now everything has a place. I love it! {my inspiration} Although I might have to move the writing box since Olivia has figured out she can get her crayons from it if she pulls ups a chair up to the bookcase. Sneaky girl.
