Miscellany Monday

* I had a wonderful birthday. Jesse let me sleep in and served me breakfast in bed. We went to a 5th birthday party at the park. Then that night Jesse and I went out for dinner and ice cream. It was a perfect day.
* Last week I read the Hunger Games trilogy. It was so good and I'm sad that there aren't anymore books. Thankfully I have movies to look forward to.
* Wednesday morning I woke up unable to move my neck or left shoulder. I pinched a nerve (I'm blaming it on reading the Hunger Games). I was out of commission until Friday afternoon. My neck still hurts but at least I'm able to function again.
* This week is Screen-Free week. We're not going to use the tv or computer while the girls are awake. I'm hoping we can do it the whole week.
Why yes, Emily is having a tantrum. Just keeping it real!

Twelve Things

My first birthday

I'm going to 36 on Saturday and you know what, I'm excited.  I'm excited to celebrate my life.  I love my life.  I've got an amazing hubby, two beautiful girls, wonderful family and a great group of friends.  I'm embracing and celebrating my age, because without it, I wouldn't be where I am today.  So to celebrate, I thought I'd share 36 thing about myself over the next few days.

1. I love to play board and card games.  I'm very competitive.  No one has ever beat me at 221B Baker Street. Ever!

2. I hate my handwriting. I'm left handed so my writing is a sloppy mess.  My mom and sister have the same beautiful handwriting, and I'm kinda jealous.

3. I love the smell of vanilla and sandalwood.

4. I get sun poisoning on the same spot of my face if I'm out in the sun too long.  I now have an age spot and freckle mole there.  A lesson to you youngsters, wear sunscreen.

5. Growing up my dad was a State Park Superintendent and I've never been camping.

6. I love Woodchuck Cider, but don't get to drink it very often.

7. I'm a very sensitive person and cry at everything.  Books, movies, name it, I'll cry at it.   My mom's the same way (and I like that).

8. I don't really like feet, but I love baby feet.  I seriously can't stop kissing and pretending to eat them.

9. I could eat Pad Thai and spring rolls every single day.

10. I can't sleep without the sound of a fan (thanks Babe).

11. My favorite color is red.

12. A perfect day would include sitting on a blanket under our big oak tree reading a book and sipping sweet tea.

Here's a look at our week according to instagram.

Coloring eggs.

Early morning giggles.

We've entered into the world of tiny Barbie accessories.

Library time.

Helping me weed. Although Olivia doesn't understand how dandelions can be a weed.

Checking out a worm.

Emily insists on putting her hands in the bubble machine.

Someone is ready for a nap. Liv usually doesn't nap but when she asks for a blanket I know she's about to pass out.

We had a hail storm. When I told Olivia it was balls of ice she asked if she could go outside and ice skate.

Emily had her 18 month check and Olivia had her three year old check up yesterday. I have to admit I got a little emotional when they took Liv's blood pressure. She's growing up so fast! Both girls are happy and healthy and we're blessed parents.

Happy Friday the 13th! Are you superstitious?

Instagram is finally on android. Yipee! I'm mamarockwell {look me up}.

Our budding photographer. She's always telling me to hold still when she takes my picture. I guess she's heard that a few times.

Olivia is having a "sleepover" with her new Barbie ballerina, Cupcake. She names her toys now and I absolutely love it!

Dinner time

Snacks always taste better when you're outside.

Olivia decided that she wanted to be green. Washable markers are not really washable {she's still kinda green}. Yes, she's wearing a swimsuit. She's sooooo ready for summer!

Yesterday we were all in rotten moods so we took a walk. It's a perfect mood pick up.
I hope you have a great Good Friday! Linking to InstaFriday.
