Christmas {2012}

We had a wonderful white Christmas. On Christmas Eve, while we were decorating Santa's cookies it started to snow. The girls played in the snow and we sprinkled reindeer food in the yard before we headed over to Grammy's house for dinner. Then we spent Christmas day at home playing, snuggling, reading and giggling. Perfection.
I hope you had a wonderful and magical Christmas.

Merry Christmas

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13

Christmas weekend

Our Christmas vacation officially began Friday evening. After dinner we had family movie night. This was the first time Emily stayed up to watch a movie with us. Unfortunately it is also her last until she's a little older. Once her popcorn was done she was bored and went to bed.
Saturday after dinner we took the girls to Tiny World to see the lights. The girls loved looking at all the lights and tiny houses. Santa was there too, but they wouldn't get near him. After Tiny World we went to a light show then drove downtown and looked at the lights. I love how magical it looks.
Sunday afternoon when had a Christmas lunch with my father-in-law's family. I loved seeing everyone. I can't believe that he's been gone almost a year.
 When we got home the girls decorated their gingerbread men. Then we tucked them into bed so they could dream about the Sugarplum Fairy while we wrapped presents.

Countdown to Christmas

I'm a little behind on posting about our Christmas activities. Oh well. At least its not March.

We kicked off December with a North Pole breakfast. It's the one morning a year that the girls get to eat donuts for breakfast and man do they love it.
This year we've been reading our Christmas books at bedtime. The girls take turns every night unwrapping the book but I'm worried that bedtime might become a bit boring for them on December 26th.

We also let the girls put the ornaments on the tree. Four broken ornaments later, all the ornaments were moved to the top half of the tree. It was too much temptation for little two-year-old hands. And yes, Olivia is wearing her 4th of July dress.

Ten on Ten {December 2012}

Ten on Ten: One photo, every hour, for ten hours on the 10th of every month.

I love She & Him on Pandora.
 Catching clouds.
 Never ending laundry.
Taking an important call.
 Her spyglass.
Playing with homemade snow play dough.
Making cinnamon rolls.
Six pans of yummyness {one is already in the oven}.
Snack time. Emily said "mmm" after every bite.
 I love my freezer group
I hope you had a beautiful ten!

Sleep Debt

I have a large sleep debt. The last time I had a full night of sleep {six consecutive hours} was in August. The time before that...June 2008? I started my sleep debt when I was pregnant with Olivia. I joked that my insomnia was preparing me for what was to come. I had no idea that years later I'd have a 26 month old non-sleeper. Actually it wasn't until this summer that Olivia started sleeping all night in her bed. So maybe there is hope once Emily is three.

I have a constant feeling of exhaustion and it makes me a grumpy {and at times an unkind} mama. I also have the worst memory. During Emily's early colic days there are a few nights I don't remember, at all.

 I read somewhere that I will need over 10 nights of consecutive sleep before I can pay off my sleep debt. So until my creditors will allow me to pay off my debt, I will continue to consume large amounts of coffee.

Do you carry a sleep debt?
